During Diwali, people clean and dye their homes and workplaces. It is a common belief that Goddess Laxmi will bring more blessings, happiness, wealth and achievement to them with lights and open window doors on every side. In this festival, people decorate their homes and welcome their loved ones from Rangoli. This festival of five days gets to shine with new clothes, fragrant dishes, sweets, and firecrackers.
On the first day of Deepawali, Dhanteras or Dhanteras are said to be celebrated with the worship of Mother Lakshmi. In this, people recite devotional songs, aarti and mantras to please the Goddess. On the second day is called Naraka Chaturdashi or small Dipavali in which Lord Krishna is worshiped because on this day Krishna killed Narkasur. Such a religious belief is that after bathing with oil in the early morning, the goddess worships Kali and kumkum them.
The third day is of main Deepavali in which the mother Lakshmi is worshiped, sweets and gifts are distributed among her friends and family, and in the evening there are heavy fireworks.
The fourth day is for Govardhan Puja, where Lord Krishna is worshiped. People worship cow dung by making cows with Govardhan on their threshold. It is believed that Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhan Mountain on his small finger and suddenly came to the rain from Gokul's people to save the god of rain from the Indra. On the fifth day, we know the name of Yama II or brother duo. This is the festival of siblings.
